KINGSTON PENINSULA (May 25, 2007)
– Following the success of Carolyn Murray’s debut CD Peninsula Child, she has just released her second project, Peninsula State of Mind.Even before the release of her first CD, Peninsula Child, Carolyn was writing more songs about her beloved Peninsula. This second recording contains thirteen of them. Their topics range from the natural beauty of the peninsula to a hilarious account of several ferry trips. Three of the songs are waltzes and one is an historical poem set to haunting music with a classical string accompaniment composed by her daughter, Stephanie Mainville.
In addition to Stephanie on violin, Carolyn is joined on this album by her four Mainville grandchildren: Lydia (cello), Stephen (bass), and Ava Carolyn and Daniel (giggles). Friends Harvey Arbo (guitar, banjo and dobro), Cynthia Cudmore (flute) and Gerry Wilson (harmonica) are featured as well, and, for one memorable song, so is her husband Duke.
